MOLE NATIONAL PARK 135km to the west of Tamale the northern regional, and 410km north of Kumasi lays the Mole National Park. The park's lands were set aside as a wildlife refuge in 1958. In 1971 the small human population of the area was relocated and the lands were designated a national park. Mole National Park is the largest and most frequently visited national park in Ghana.

It is reasonably well set up to cater for tourists it’s regarded as the most developed and protected environment for eco-tourism and nature conservation in West Africa. Without a doubt, this national park will guarantee the sights of a full-scale safari, and the close-up scenes of the famous elephant herds in Africa. The bountiful vegetation of the Guinea Savannah landscape is home to diverse creatures. Within the borders of this beautifully wooded country side, you can find mammals, reptiles, birds and plants dwelling in its ecosystem. Over 94 mammalian species have been identified so far in Park such as elephants, buffalos, lions, and various kinds of monkeys to name a few.

Even the great African antelope herds make their way across these lands in search of abundant resources and ideal mating spots. The park’s largest population is made up of the 300 currently identified bird species that roam the airs and clear skies of Western Africa, making Mole the perfect destination for bird watching. Wildlife population is at an exciting level, and game-viewers will not be disappointed, especially when almost every kind of animal and natural beauty can be captured by the lens of your camera

375 square km is the kakum national park located in the Central Region of Ghana. The park was first established in 1960. It is located 30km north of Cape Coast and Elmina near the small village of Abrafo. The entire area is covered with tropical rainforest. In the park gamekeepers are specially trained in the medical and cultural significance of the local foliage.

Kakum National Park contains rare animals, including the endangered Mona-monkey, as well as pygmy elephants, forest buffalo, civet cats, a wide array of birds, and over 500 species of butterflies. Kakum National Park has a long series of hanging bridges at the forest canopy level known as the "Canopy Walkway." At 40 m (130 ft) height, the visitor can approach the plants and animals from a vantage point that would otherwise be inaccessible to people. The Canopy Walkway passes over 7 bridges and runs over a length of 330 m (1,080 ft). It is secured by a series of nets and wires for safety purposes.
